Ariacom Business Reports® manages Business domains and Reports.
Ariacom Business Reports® is a suite of intuitive components for creating and producing every day database reports, in HTML, PDF, RTF, Text or directly in Microsoft® Excel.

Overview
A business domain is a set of data used to edit and execute reports. It contains the following information:
- target database description (table description, report elements, report types and templates).
- users, security and public folders.
- translations for multilingual support.
- output device definition to redirect report results to special devices.
A business domain is stored in a dedicated (*.bdo) file.
A report is a set of data containing the information necessary to build a report result. A report is defined and executed for a given business domain. It contains the following information:
- elements to be shown in the result.
- restrictions to be applied.
- template to format the result.
- outputs to various devices.
- schedules.
A report is stored in a dedicated (*.bre) file that can be directly edited by users.
This database reporting software can query any database with an ODBC driver. Currently fully tested databases are MS Access, MS SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL.
Business Domain Manager
This component defines the business elements from the database schema.
The user can also define report templates for a domain, security rules, output devices, translations, enumerated lists, etc. It produces a BDO object that can be stored in a XML file (encrypted or not) or in a database.

Report Manager
The Report Manager is used to define reports using elements defined in a domain, to set restrictions on reports, to define schedules, etc.
This component is a Microsoft® Windows application.
Excel Add-In
With the Excel Add-In, users can use the power and ease of the Report Manager to define reports, and get the results inside Microsoft® Excel.
This powerful component is very useful to group several reports in a single page or to cross “corporate” data from databases with personal data stored in Excel files.

Report Scheduler
The scheduler is a batch application that you can run as a service.
It automatically detects reports with a schedule from domains registered on a machine.
Web Report Server
Through this component, users can browse and run reports from anywhere with their favorite Web browser.
The server side relies on ISAPI and the client side is in HTML and Javascript.
Report Manager Thin Client
Sometimes users may need to define new reports from a remote location. To give them the same access they have with the Report Manager, it is possible to download a “thin client” version from the Web Report Server.
With this version, no administration permissions nor ODBC drivers are required on the client.
